Community Justice Initiatives

Community Justice Initiatives (CJI) is a non-profit organization known world-wide for starting thefirst modern Restorative Justice (RJ) program.

Restorative Justice is a way of addressing conflict and crime that engages the person who caused the harm, people who were affected by the harm, and the community. We provide conflict resolution services, support for people impacted by sexual trauma, assistance for families involved with child protection, and reintegration support for women and youth returning to the community from prison or custody. This year CJI is raising money for our BackHome program. BackHome supports youth to build positive peer support networks and relationships within their communities as they reintegrate after being incarcerated in youth custody facilities. The program builds upon the strengths of the youth, their family and community volunteers to create and strengthen relationships that lead to a safer and more connected community.
